Assignment #1: Play Festival Experience :)

T. Lyle gave us a notice about "Assignment #1: Make a photo blog reflecting your performance in playfest.", so here it goes! :)

A-Trium: Table of Authors

One play captures the greatest of love stories from three corners of globe. Travelling through infinite strands of time, over the courses of  mysticism and reality, and across the vast pages of literature, we present to you: three muses, three writers, three couples. Get ready to be enticed and captured, and feel the most ardent and passionate feeling among all - love!

On March 26, the lights were on, cameras were set, and our time to show some actions came. Nervous yet ready, we stood under the bright spotlight, spoke as the microphone echoed our voices, and shared our stories by communicating to the audience. Without realizing, we have successfully showcased our proud play, A-Trium: Table of Authors.

I can still remember the day when the concept our play was first introduced and our biggest concern was to decide the final title of our play. (We had very creative titles that we even thought of "Bibim-Japtang-Halo-Halo Story".) At that moment, I wasn't aware of (couldn't even imagine, rather,) what this play could possibly turn out to be.

During the preparation process, I can say that there were a lot of troubles, at least more than I expected and hoped there would be. As the roles were assigned and the script was distributed, we tried to familiarize ourselves to the play, which was innovative and creative, but therefore hard-to-understand and difficult-to-adapt-quickly. I personally wanted our play to be a famous comedy because our classmates were good in making people laugh, because people would understand the story even if the voices couldn't be heard (in case there are some problems with the sound system), and because a comedy would have an organized plot with a clear ending--unlike the hanging conclusion of our new play. To be frank, starting from this point, I was not contented very much with what we had to do. But this wasn't the end of my stress because it seemed as if we didn't have enough time for practice and even those rarely-held practices weren't done seriously and progressed very slowly (or should I say, didn't even have any obvious improvement). Even worse, time flied so fast and the date for our performance approached very quickly. It was only a few days before the final show but more than half of the people weren't prepared either with their costumes or with their props. Lights and Sound were also not ready. At this extremely annoying period, we argued very often and this made me worry if it was possible for this play to turn out to be great.

However, there was no need (at all!) for me to worry. Things started to become more organized. People became more responsible and ready. One helped out for another's problem and the rest also followed. I noticed that, although not everyone might have recognized it, we were being united by trust and friendship. Some may say that I am overestimating one simple, normal preparation process, but for me, this was one great, memorable experience as a whole class, grade 10A. Honestly, I was very moved and surprised by how we could really work as a team and was grateful to be a part of this amazing group of people. Because of this strong (and maybe unrecognized) bond, I think, things got better (except when we put our final make-ups on hahaha). And when the time finally came, at the backstage, we cheered each other up for the last time.

Maybe our support really did work, because each and every one of us really could pull off his or her best! I think this precious group effort was the reason why our play was the best play of the day, and by this I mean we literally won the "Best Play" Award! :) Moreover, Best Actor and Best Actress(which was surprisingly me! YAY :D) also came from our class! I was so happy that we received these awards, especially because it seemed like those represented how hard we worked and how well we did to show how really deserved them! (although I understand that others worked hard too, but yeah. :) ) But I was even more proud and pleased that we didn't just act, but we rather shared our play 'together' as more skillful actors, as more mature and developed individuals, and as a better group of friends. This event was absolutely worth all the pain, troubles, and back-breaking effort, not just because of what we materialistically received, but also and more importantly because of what we learned and became. This year's Play Fest wasn't just a simple school event, but most probably one of the most unforgettable teenage memories I will ever have. :)

To my classmates, teachers, and other supporters, thank you again for everything! All these were possible because you were there!

Best Actor and Best Actress Awards!
(Ooh yeah, almost forgot!
The winners of the MITIS Essay Writing Contest were also announced.
Maybe it's just luck or it's really the true ability(haha), both of the grade 10 students could afford to win!  )
The BEST CLASS that performed just the BEST PLAY! :)
Grade 10A foreverrr! Hahaha

Bananananana Test!

This is another work we made for our computer/art class!
I liked these because I felt like I was using my skills for good use and developing my creativity!
Try answering the Banana Test,
and you'll want to buy those bananas from Jeanie's Honkey Farms! :P

It's more fun in the Philippines!

This is an art project I had, and I really had fun because I could be reminded of how beautiful the country I'm living in was when I somehow forgot its beauty and took everything for granted.
Also, I loved the landscapes, the pictures, and the funny captions for each picture!
I love the culture and the places. I respect the creativity of the ones who made these!
It's really more fun in the Philippines!

Sungha Jung!

I've always had the passion and desire for good musical talents
and envied the people who sang and played instruments beautifully.
And this guy is one of those people I envy, and at the same time, admire!
He's name is Sungha Jung.
He was famous in Korea since a long long ago,
as he played guitar even at a very young age.
He is talented for sure!
I just wish I could play like him! :)

Haven't heard him yet?
Watch these:

He was so young when he started playing guitar, wasn't he?
Even at a young age, he was acknowledged by people all around the world through YouTube.
Since then and until now, he is globally watched, praised, and respected.
And imagine? He's age is the same as mine!
(and what am I doing?  Hahaha)
Anyway, hoped you enjoyed it! :)

With Megan Lee! :)

Megan Lee!

Do you know Megan Lee?
Or rather, have you ever heard of Megan Lee?
Most probably, you haven't.
Even I just got to know her about  just a month ago!
But the moment I heard her sing,
I fell in love with this talented Korean-American singer!
You should also try listening to her sing:

Wait, do you recognize the guy at the left?
Find out more about him at my next post! :)

A Korean in American Idol?

Yay! It's really nothing serious,
but I'm happy that a fellow Korean was able to qualify as one of the American's 10 favorite singers in this year's season of American Idol!
Let us enjoy some of his songs and also those of the other contestants! :)

I hope I can sing that well too, but too bad I just can't! :D
But I still love hearing from and listening to them! :)

More nails!

OMG, these are all so cute!
I really want to try all of them! :)

Nails, nails, and nails!

Since some of the girls started posting about beauty-related information and interests,
I would also like to blog about the things I personally like!
Let's begin with nails!

First of all, what are nails?

Human nails
Human fingers and nails
Fingernails
Human toes and nails
Toenails
A nail is a horn-like envelope covering the dorsal aspect of the terminal phalanges of fingers and toes in humans, most non-human primates, and a few other mammals. Nails are similar to claws, which are found on numerous other animals. Fingernails and toenails are made of a tough protein called keratin, as are animals' hooves and horns. The mammalian nail, claw, and hoof are all examples of unguis [plural ungues].

Eww, lame! Why not try some ART on our nails? :) Try watching the following videos!

Since I go to school everyday, I am not allowed(I think) to have these fancy nails for now,
but I hope I can try those on my nails soon, probably when I'm on vacation! :)
I'm LOVING these nail arts!
